Layyah district occupies a unique geographical position between the Indus River to the west and the Sulaiman foothills to the east. It is one of MEPCO's more challenging service areas due to its partially remote terrain and scattered rural population. The district includes Karor Lal Esan and Chaubara tehsils. With Pakistan's increasing focus on solar energy, Layyah's sunny climate has also made it a candidate for solar-powered tube-well programs, potentially reducing grid electricity demand for irrigation in the coming years.
